Event Day

April 24, 2021- THINGS GET MAGICAL!

Whether you’ve never done anything quite like this - or if you are a Sky Lantern pro, this info pack contains all the details you need to make sure you have the most magical day of your life. We are expecting a large amount of people, so please read this packet in its entirety to help things run more efficiently.

  • WHERE: Plantation Field | 1547 W Doe Run Rd. | Kennett Square, PA | 19348
  • Map Link
  • WHEN: Saturday, April 24th
  • Time: Gates open at 4:00 PM
  • Please come early! Entertainment will be starting shortly after gates open at 4:00 PM. We have booked some amazing local artists! Arrive early to avoid traffic and get the closest parking, your choice of spots among the tiki torches, and the best view of the stage!
  • Planning: Rain and high winds can postpone any event. Please plan to keep the following day (Sunday) as the possible return date. If weather does not allow for the event that weekend we will announce the new date. Be sure you're following your event's Facebook page HERE for updates and announcements.
  • What To Bring: Chairs, blankets, bug spray, food, water, umbrella. A phone or camera to capture the moment. Outside drinks and food are welcome, but alcohol is not permitted. All coolers will be checked when entering our event. Due to COVID, we do not have as many food vendors as originally scheduled, please consider bringing your own snacks.
  • What to Wear: Be prepared for cooler temperatures at night fall. Jackets and blankets are suggested.
  • Tickets: Please double check NOW that you have your tickets. We get a lot of emails the day of the event from participants who can't find their tickets and are needing them resent, but our customer service hours are limited on the weekends and we may not get to your request before your event.
  • Parking: Gates open at 4:00 PM. Many of our venues are located off of smaller roads, and traffic can back up closer to gates closing. We ask if you can to please carpool.
  • Check-In Time/packet pickup: Check-in will begin at 4:00 PM on Saturday. Your packet will be handed out with the event lantern during check-in. Remember no outside lanterns are allowed. Our special event lanterns are designed for safety and close landing zones.
  • After the lantern launch, you are welcome to hang-out with us and enjoy more music during our "after party". Because this event is held in a rural area off small back roads, traffic exiting the event can get heavy, so please be patient. Feel free to hang out in the festival area for traffic to lighten up before you head home!
  • Food Options: Here is a list of food vendors you can expect to see:
    • Mamalicious
    • Mobile Chef
    • Dough Heads
    • Rosie's Kettle Corn
    • Philly Nuts

Social Distancing and Safety Measures:

• All Lights Fest staff will be wearing masks when interacting with participants. If you wish to wear a mask, please be sure to bring your own.

• To ensure that social distancing guidelines can be followed, only a limited number of participants will be able to attend.

• The tiki torches in the launch zone will be more spread out so each group of participants can stay 6 feet apart.

• There will be an overflow area for people who prefer to sit away from the main crowd and watch the lanterns go up. Then, as participants leave and the crowd size in the lantern lighting/launching area starts to get smaller, those in the overflow area can feel free to come light their lanterns when they’re ready.

The lantern launch will be no earlier than 8:00 PM. The launch of the lanterns is 100% dependent on the weather and fire team approval. Once it gets dark, and we get the approval, we will begin the Sky Lantern Launch. We will give a brief description on stage of how to light off a lantern. A message from our charity partner...

The Trauma Survivors Foundation

Dear Friends,

You have seen their faces and read their stories. Our Hospital Heroes and First Responders are remarkable. Their strength is inspiring as they continue to work around the clock in the fight against Covid-19.  Throughout the Pandemic, they have had limited down time and limited access to prepared meals.  Our Hospital Heroes are working in extremely stressful environments - literally placing their own safety at risk to help the sick and dying.

Our mission since the beginning of the Pandemic is to show these Frontline Workers that we, the community they are caring for, supports and cares for them through the simple act of providing them with a prepared meal to help sustain them through the day.  To complete this mission, we are partnering with local restaurants to deliver quality food directly to Hospitals, Urgent Cares, Testing Centers, Treatment Centers, Nursing Facilities, and First Responder Stations.  We have delivered nearly 20,000 meals to over 50 locations in Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland.

We have been honored to help these amazing men and women. The meals we bring are met with such gratitude. In those moments, as the meals are set up, we see their gratitude in the form of tears and laughter.  A simple meal can provide hope in the face of this terrifying disease. The Trauma Survivors Foundation's Hospital Heroes Food Drive has the incredible privilege of coming into the worlds of our Hospital Heroes and First Responders at the most difficult time in their lives.

For a $6 meal donation, you can help a Hospital Hero and a struggling restaurant stay focused and positive through the Covid-19 Pandemic.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but we still need your help to see our Hospital Heroes through this fight.  Our Heroes are why we do what we do, but YOU are the how. Your donation helps us provide food and hope to our front-line heroes. Your donation makes hope stronger than fear.

Text HOSPITALHEROES to 44-321 to donate a meal to a hero!  Please visit us at www.HospitalHeroesFoodDrive.org to learn more about our mission.
